The Infiniti G-series is a line of compact executive cars manufactured by Infiniti, a luxury division of Nissan. The first two generations of this model were sedans based on the Nissan Primera.

In May 2013, the brand announced a new naming convention beginning with the 2014 model year. All passenger cars are called by the letter "Q," while sport-utility model names will begin with "QX."

This model was to have been replaced by the brand’s Q50, but the G37 was revived as the Q40 starting with the 2015 model year.

2011 Infiniti G Review

The 2011 G Sedan is available in several different trim levels broken into two model designations based on the engine. They are G25 base, G25 Journey, G37 Journey, and G37 Sport 6MT. G25x and G37x models add AWD to the Journey trims.

Some features on the base G25 are cruise control, automatic climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, foglamps, keyless ignition/entry.

Others are satellite radio, an eight-way power driver seat, a four-way power passenger seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, leather upholstery, and more.

The G25 Journey adds heated mirrors, a rearview camera, automatic headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-seat air vents, heated front seats, and others.

The G37's Premium package adds driver memory functions, rear parking sensors, a sunroof, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system.

Similarly, the Navigation package adds voice controls, a hard-drive-based navigation system, real-time traffic and weather, and additional digital music storage.

The G25 is powered by a 2.5-liter V6 that produces 218 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. The only transmission is a seven-speed automatic.

You have a choice to make between standard RWD and optional AWD. The fuel economy is estimated to be 20 mpg city/29 mpg highway for the RWD while the AWD drops to 19/27 mpg.

2012 Infiniti G Review

The 2012 G Sedan is a midsize luxury sedan that comes in G25, G25 Journey, G37 Journey, and G37 Sport. The G25x and G37x are Journey trim with all-wheel drive.

The G25 is powered by a 2.5-liter V6 that generates 218 horsepower and 187 pound-ft of torque. Coming standard on it is a seven-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but AWD is available on the G25x model.

The G37 has a 3.7-liter V6 that produces 328 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission is standard on the rear-wheel-drive Journey and all-wheel-drive G37x. Also, a six-speed manual is standard on the G37 Sport.

The vehicle comes standard with stability and traction control, antilock brakes, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. A rearview camera comes standard on all trim but the G25 base.

In addition, when equipped with the Technology Package, the adaptive cruise control sensors will automatically trigger the seatbelts to pre-tension if an accident is deemed imminent.

Its handling is worthy to be praised, as the G attacks curves with hostility and precision, yet remain poised and compliant when driven over less-than-perfect pavement

Similarly, its steering feel is applaudable, particularly with the Sport package that has a quicker steering ratio. This setup provides amazing feedback and a nice weightiness that builds progressively when cornering.

The G37 offers amazing build quality and user-friendly controls. Also, the front seats are supportive and comfortable. Similarly, the backseat offers fantastic space for its class, except for the narrow center seat.
