Acura TSX in Nigeria
You're probably aware of how a used ILX with a manual might be a wise investment, but another long-forgotten model is now a fantastic used bargain. If you're looking for a reliable and economical luxury sedan, the Acura TSX is a good option.
The Performance
The front wheels of the second-generation TSX were driven by two separate engines connected to either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Only the 2.4-liter four-cylinder VTEC engine with 201 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque could be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while the 3.5-liter V6 (shared with the TL) with 280 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque could only be paired with a five-speed automatic transmission.
It's also worth mentioning that the Sport Wagon was only available with a four-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. With the manual transmission, the four-cylinder vehicle took just over seven seconds to reach 60 mph, while the V6 could reach 60 mph in roughly six seconds. Manual aficionados will have an easy time choosing between the two, but the V6 is by much the faster of the two.

The Interior
Acura's interiors of this era were virtually luxury, not quite on par with BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes, but certainly superior to the ordinary Honda or Toyota vehicle. The cockpit of the TSX has plenty of basic features like leather, heated seats, navigation, and Bluetooth, but it lacks modern technologies like active safety systems, smartphone connectivity, and wireless charging. The interior of the TSX will be just as polished as the upper echelon of late-2000s technology is for you.
The Practical Stuff
Before the ILX, the TSX was on the smaller side of Acura's lineup, but it still has adequate dimensions for a daily car. The rear-seat legroom is a generous 34.3 inches, and the trunk has a capacity of 14 cubic feet (31.5 feet with the seats folded). With 31.5 cubic feet of storage, the Sport Wagon significantly improves practicality (66.2 feet with the seats down).
The four-cylinder sedan's fuel economy was a respectable 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the interstate (dropping one mpg on the road with the wagon). In exchange for 79 more horsepower, V6 cars only lose three mpg in each category.
Why You Should Buy One
The first-generation TSX was released in 2004, and it was superseded in 2009 by the second generation, which lasted until 2014 when it was joined with the larger TL to become the TLX.
The TSX was a rebadged version of the European Honda Accord, which was far superior to the Accord. Acura added a Sport Wagon to the TSX lineup in 2011, greatly boosting the car's practicality. The TSX was never the most upmarket luxury vehicle, but it did offer a step up from most mainstream options, as well as legendary Honda durability and cheap operating expenses. The TSX, unlike most old luxury cars with considerable depreciation, will not be a maintenance nightmare.
Do you want to get your own Acura TSX?
For enthusiasts looking for something more mature than a Honda Civic Si or Volkswagen Golf GTI, the TSX was always a terrific sleeper vehicle. On the used market, the TSX is currently a great value, and its long track record of reliability should make it a great sleeper pick for young enthusiasts. Although Acura never produced a manual V6 wagon, the TSX is still a very cool car for the money. If this is the model that tickles your fancy, then head on to Cars45 to get yours in Nigeria.
