BMW 335i in Nigeria

For the time being, the 335i Luxury is the only model in the new BMW 3-series lineup that retains six-cylinder power. The '35i' twin-turbocharged 3-liter straight-six petrol engine, which produces 302 bhp and 295lb-ft, is nearly unaltered from the preceding model. The 'Luxury' trim level on the 'comfort' side of the 3-series family is the top of the line, with plenty of standard features and a comfort-oriented setup. The automobile we're testing here has an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2012 BMW 335i engine

The powerful peak torque is available from just 1200rpm onwards, and the '35i' engine has always delivered its punch from inside a velvet glove. Authorized performance stats are amazing, with a stated 0-62mph time of 5.5 seconds and a prime speed of 155mph hampered by one of those pesky 155mph limiters.

It is believed that switching to the new eight-speed automatic transmission improves fuel economy. BMW claims a combined efficiency figure of 39.2mpg, compared to 35.8mpg for the six-speed manual, with the auto's official CO2 figure of 169g/km being significantly lower than the manual. When you consider the power and performance on offer, those are some pretty impressive stats.

Driving impression of the BMW 335i

Experts found the 335i's cabin to be far from quiet when they took it out on the open road, despite its opulent exterior. Wind noise was negligible in the cabin, but tire howl and noise from other nearby vehicles were audible. It was as though BMW had omitted the thick insulation to save weight. The poorly insulated interior, on the other hand, worked to their advantage because the inline-pleasing six's grumble could readily infiltrate the cabin at practically all speeds.

You can easily include the 335i into your hectic schedule. Its tiny stature seemed tailor-fit for duty, although being slightly larger than its predecessor. You can fit five people in the cabin, transport muddy adolescent lacrosse players with long defensive sticks, and throw a mountain bike in the trunk. You can run errands, attend dinner parties, and sit in traffic. Although the 335i isn't the ideal track car, the 3 Series with the turbocharged inline-six completely slays the everyday grind.

The 335i is a shining star in the absence of a 328i. The N55's low-end power is ample, and appropriate gear ratios keep the pace energetic without becoming frustrating. The second and third speeds are very enjoyable, and the electrically assisted steering is well-balanced and precise. Body roll was maintained to a minimum by the suspension in Sport+ mode, and stability control was never an issue. The 335i Sport's stock tires are 225/45R18 summer compound, and the suspension pushed them to their limits. At all speeds, the brakes, which included large vented discs at all four corners and four-piston calipers up front, instilled confidence. When it comes to performance, the 335i receives nothing but high reviews.

Do you want to get the BMW 335i?

The more you drive the 335i, the more you'll find yourself falling in love with it. The bigger sedan missed the 328i's tossable agility, but the traditional powertrain over the front axle provides emotional fulfillment, and its mass made the 335i feel more stable and substantial on the road.

The daily delight of hearing BMW's silky inline-six whirling up to redline while its linear torque pulls you deep into the seatbacks is the most significant aspect. If you decide on getting this car, you are not making the wrong decision. Head on to Cars45, a safe platform for car deals in Nigeria, and place an order.
