Chevrolet Express in Nigeria
The Chevrolet Express is a range of full-size vans produced basically for commercial uses. The model line is sold in three versions which include a passenger van, cargo van, and a cutaway van chassis.
The cutaway van chassis is a chassis cab variant manufactured for commercial-grade applications, such as buses, ambulances, and small trucks.
Name | Transmission | Engine type | Color | Production year |
Express 1500 | Automatic | V8 | White | 2010 |
Express 1500 | Automatic | V6 | White | 2004 |
Express 1500 | Automatic | V6 | Extended white | 2009 |
Unlike its competitors such as Ford, this vehicle has an upper hand in the following aspects:
- Robust engines
- Dual passenger access doors
- Multiple wheelbases and passenger configurations
- Available all-wheel drive
- Lots of powertrain options
2009 Chevrolet Express Review
This model is a full-size van produced primarily for commercial use. The standard-wheelbase comes in half-ton (1500), 3/4-ton (2500), and 1-ton (3500) configurations.
The extended wheelbase version is available on only the 2500 and 3500 series vans. Some standard equipment available on the cargo are the two seats, air-conditioning systems, and a theft-deterrent system.
Among the other options are cloth upholstery, a CD stereo, a rear air-conditioner and heater, a passenger-side sliding door, power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt steering wheel, and a keyless entry.
The Chevy's interior is built mainly for functionality and not for fashion. All the controls are simple to use and well within reach of the driver, but they cannot be termed stylish. It lacks a tall-roof option that allows a normal-sized person to walk upright in the cargo area
It has a pair of strong V8 engines which you can choose from, and this allows merging and passing maneuvers easily accomplished even when moving a heavy load. In conclusion, it is always pleasant for their pilots.
2010 Chevrolet Express Review
The standard-wheelbase van comes in a base 1500 configuration and the heavier duty 2500 and 3500. It houses about eight to twelve passengers. The extended wheelbase version is available only for the 3500 and can house up to fifteen passengers. It comes in two trim levels which are LS and LT.
The LS models are geared toward fleet service, so the equipment is limited to features such as vinyl upholstery, air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, 16- or 17-inch steel wheels, passenger-side rear swing-out doors, and a theft-deterrent system.
However, the more livable LT models feature cloth upholstery, cruise control, keyless entry, auxiliary rear air-conditioning and heating, power windows and locks, and a tilt steering wheel. Most of these features are optional on the LS model.
Other options entail alloy wheels, remote engine start, power driver and front passenger seats, a sliding passenger-side door, and an upgraded audio system with an in-dash six-CD changer.
It is powered by a 5.3-liter V8 with 310 hp and 334 pound-feet of torque. Also, available on it is a four-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, while the all-wheel drive is optional. It also has an amazing fuel economy of 13 mpg city/17 mpg highway and 14 mpg combined.
