Chrysler Crossfire in Nigeria

The Crossfire is a two-seat coupe with an American design and German engineering. You'll find a lot of Mercedes pieces underneath the Crossfire, including the V6 engine, multi-link suspension, and steering arrangement.

It drives like a Mercedes, which is unsurprising. However, no Mercedes looks as good as the Crossfire. The Chrysler Crossfire is described as a "boulevard cruiser" rather than a "red-blooded sports vehicle," but we believe it falls somewhere in the middle. The Mercedes engine can't compete with the BMW Z4 roadster, Nissan Z, or Infiniti G35 coupe in terms of output. The rear tires on the Crossfire, however, are larger than those on some race cars, and the car's performance is thrilling thanks to its acceptable weight of 3060 pounds.

Lineup

Only one Crossfire model comes with a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick. Except for heated seats and a tilt steering wheel, the Crossfire comes with just about every feature you could want.

Walk around

The Crossfire isn't a car you'd buy just because you need one. It's a classic car like a Mini Cooper, PT Cruiser, or New Beetle. Crossfire, on the other hand, is based on elements of classic French Bugattis and Talbot Lagos from the exquisite pre-war period of automobile design.

The Crossfire impresses at first glance with all of its imitated elegance, and the car looks fantastic.

Interior

The Mercedes adjustable wheel and pedal configuration, as well as a low seating position akin to the SLK roadster, are found inside the Chrysler Crossfire. Although the interior is cramped for a six-footer, the driver's seat slides back far enough for an NBA prospect. The seats could use extra lumbar support, but they're comfortable enough for an all-day trip.

Inside, there are even more bins and nooks than in the Mercedes SLK or even the top-of-the-line SL two-seater. The cockpit of the Crossfire is cramped and opulent, similar to that of a sports car. It's evocative of the SLK, although the sun visors are oddly small.

Driving Impressions

Even though the Crossfire's output of 215 horsepower is standard these days, it accelerates with vigor and fury. The three-valve engine has a somewhat athletic sound and the smoothness of a luxury car's engine. It has a louder and more purposeful sound than the Mercedes E320 sedan's engine.

The rapid throttle response will amaze you, giving the impression that the engine is more powerful than its 215 horsepower suggests. The Crossfire is claimed to reach 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, which is much slower than competing sports cars.

The Crossfire does not overwhelm its chassis; in fact, the reverse is true. The A-arm front and multilink rear suspension, as well as the monster tires, give the impression that they can handle more speed than the engine can deliver.

The Crossfire will start plowing sooner than a 350Z or BMW Z4 when cornering to its limits. This, according to Chrysler, is due to the car's tuning for more leisurely cruising rather than all-out sport driving. The front and rear tires on the Crossfire are massive, measuring 225/40 by 18 inches and 255/35 by 19 inches, respectively.

Do you want to get yours?

The Chrysler Crossfire, with its custom-made luggage, appeals to drivers who want to go on extended road trips. You'll like driving and gazing at the Crossfire, and those are the two most significant things you can say about any car.
