GAC GS5 in Nigeria

The GS5 is a compact crossover produced by GAC Group under the Trumpchi brand. The first generation was sold from 2011 to 2017 with a facelift variant called the GS5 Super launched in 2014. The second-generation model was sold in 2018.

During the 2021 Shangai Auto show, a facelift for the 2021 model year was launched changing the name to Trumpchi GS4 Plus.

The power of the GS5 comes from a 2.0-liter engine with 150 horsepower and 183 nm. This is matched to a 5-speed automatic or manual transmission.

However, at a later date, a 1.8-liter turbo engine and a 2.4-liter engine were available.

GAC sells passenger cars under the Trumpchi brand, SUVs under the Changfeng Motor brand, passenger cars, and commercial vehicles under the Gonow brand. It sells electric cars under the Aion brand and buses under the GAC Bus brand.

2021 GAC GS5 Review

The sophisticated design of the headlights will catch your attention from the moment you lay your eyes on them. The interior quality and design are Impressive by all standards. Also, there is a similarity between this mod and the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Wondering why? There is a reason behind it. The designer, Zhang Fan worked at Mercedes-Benz for close to 8 years before joining GAC Motor. And so, there are a few design influences that have been carried over.

Moving further, the cabin is weaved with flexible leather and soft-touch materials. Everything just feels extremely properly built.

Although when it comes to design, the designers have gone for a minimalistic approach. However, the engineers have made sure that the model is packed to the brim with features.

Some of its features are power-adjustable seats, cruise control, a sunroof, dual-zone climate control system. Others are a wireless charger, rear camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system among others.

It is available in six different colors including grey. Although the bodywork is adorned with plenty of curves and lines, it does not look silly at all.

The 18-inch alloys do an incredible job of filling up the wheel arches. As mentioned earlier, the headlights on this model are not any normal set of headlights.

Instead, they are Matrix LED headlights which are the same sort of lights you will find in an Audi or even the Buggati Chiron.

The steering is very accurate and it gives a smooth ride experience. Also, the cabin is well insulated. Due to so much energy put in by the team to make sure this model is very quiet, it is now quieter than even the Honda CR-V when driving.

From the power perspective, this vehicle produces 166 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque from a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. It has a six-speed automatic transmission which is quick in its shifts. It also gives room for drivers to shift gears manually.

Moreover, there are three drive modes which include Eco, Snow, and Normal to suit varying conditions.

Combined with the Continental tires that are fitted on this vehicle, it can stop faster than Audi R8 and McLaren 570 from 100km/h!
