2019 GMC Yukon Review

This vehicle is a full-size SUV that comes in SLE, SLT and Denali trim levels. Most of the vehicles seat eight passengers but there is an optional front bench seat on the SLE which increases it to nine. Also, on the SLT trim, second-row bucket seats are available. They are standard on the Denali trim and they reduce passenger capacity to seven.

Equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 engine and adaptive suspension, it handles and accelerates impressively. Its braking and steering are also exceptional. It possesses comfortable front seats and a quiet cabin.

The 2021 model is a large three-row SUV that can accommodate seven to nine passengers depending on the configuration. It is sold in four trim levels which are SLT, SLE, AT4, and Denali. Most models are powered by a 5.3-liter V8 which produces 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. However, two other engines are also available.

The Denali trim exclusively has a 6.2-liter V8 that generates 420 hp, 460 lb-ft of torque. GMC also offers an optional turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine. However, all engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is optional except on the AT4, where it is standard.

Its design brief could have read "bigger is better" because the new 2021 model is 6.1 inches longer than its predecessor. Amazingly, this has opened up more legroom for rear passengers, and 6-foot-tall passengers can sit without feeling cramped.

The cargo space also benefits from this increase in length. When you fold down the second and third-row seats, you get a massive 122.9 cubic feet at your disposal.

Also, for the first time, it gets an independent rear suspension. Compared to the old model which had a traditional solid-axle rear suspension, this new model rides more smoothly around turns and over bumps.

GMC is also offering an air-ride suspension system that provides 4 inches of ride-height adjustment. It also allows you to switch the Yukon from a low, easier passenger-access mode to an off-road mode that adds 2 inches of ground clearance over the standard ride height.
