Honda Civic in Nigeria

The Civic is a better compact car than its reputation suggests, with an enjoyable driving experience, a sensible cabin, and a variety of models to select from. It comes in sedan, coupe, and hatchback models, all of which are fuel-efficient and inexpensive. There is a slew of technology and safety features available, and both the standard engine and the optional turbocharged engines offer plenty of power and efficiency. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) or a more involved six-speed manual transmission is available.

Pros and cons of the Honda Civic

Pros

  • Fun to drive.
  • Practical and spacious interior.
  • Lots of versions to choose from.

Cons

  • Overdone styling.
  • Below-average warranty.
  • Real-world fuel economy doesn't match EPA numbers.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The Civic's four-cylinder engines are quick, with the turbocharged version being more expensive but more powerful. It's an excellent engine. It eagerly dragged the Civic Touring test car away from stoplights during expert testing. While experts favor the light and precise action of the six-speed manual over the CVT, the CVT is far from a bad partner—in fact, it's one of the best on the market.

The Civic strikes a terrific balance between comfort and driver engagement, making it a true jack-of-all-trades. It's a joy to drive because of its comfortable ride, responsive steering, and energetic driving dynamics. The Civic's ride quality is about ideal, neither too soft nor too rough. The Civic's steering is quick, well-weighted, and surprisingly feelsome, making it even more pleasurable to drive. Those seeking even more sporty vibes might choose for the Sport models, which have faster steering. Despite having a strong brake pedal with a nice feel, the brakes fall short of competitors' stopping power.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The Civic's interior is wide and has ample storage space, and it is practical and modern in style. Even the most basic model isn't a penalty box. While it doesn't have the most optional comfort and convenience features in the compact class, it has more than enough for any small-car buyer. The sedan's interior is more spacious than the coupe's, albeit the coupe's back seats are practically useless for someone of above-average height.

The Civic sedan's trunk is one of the largest in the class, and it includes a number of intelligently built storage niches throughout the cabin. Do you require even greater load-carrying capacity? Then have a look at the hatchback version. The coupe, on the other hand, is more about flair than the utility.

Infotainment and Connectivity in the Honda Civic

With the inclusion of a long-awaited volume knob for the music system and hard buttons for some functions, Honda's touchscreen interface has been greatly improved. The 7.0-inch touchscreen in the top-tier Touring sedan we drove provided navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, among other things. Two USB ports and a single 12-volt outlet are included in the front compartment. Unfortunately, no USB port or 12-volt outlet makes it past the Civic's front seats, leaving rear-seat passengers unattached.
