Honda Element in Nigeria

The Element was designed to be the pinnacle of practical style, and the 2007 model is even more so. The popular mainstream variants for dog lovers and surfers remain, but the sleek new Element SC transforms this multipurpose box on wheels into a lowered, carpeted, monochrome city cruiser.

The 2007 Element SC, like the other variants, can transform from a four-seat people mover to a surprisingly large cargo carrier in minutes. It also has sedan-like driving qualities and good fuel economy, at least when compared to SUVs. The SC, on the other hand, isn't a dirty boot, hose-it-out car, and it's given up all pretension of all-terrain competence. The Element has evolved.

Lineup

The Honda Element comes in three different models. All are equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on all models, however, all-wheel drive is available on the LX and EX.

Air conditioning with micron filtration, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control, an adjustable steering column, and a four-speaker AM/FM/CD audio are all standard on the LX and LX 4WD. The grey vinyl fenders and lower body covering are still present on this Element, making it the sole one with them. Remote keyless entry is standard on the LX for 2007.

Aluminum wheels, a passenger-side armrest, a 270-watt, seven-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with subwoofer, XM Satellite Radio hardware, and redundant controls on the steering wheel are all standard on the EX and EX 4WD. Fenders and cladding on EX vehicles are painted to match the rest of the body.

The SC has the same features as the Element EX, including the enhanced 270-watt audio.

Driving impression

The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine in the Honda Element gets a 10-hp pump for 2007, bringing the total output to 166 hp, owing to Honda's i-VTEC variable valve timing system. The optional automatic transmission has been increased from four to five speeds, resulting in improved engine response and a marginal boost in real-world fuel economy.

This engine likes to rev freely and stay at the top of the tachometer. Despite this, Honda's i-VTEC variable valve timing system provides good acceleration lower in the rpm range, and power is distributed evenly from idle to the tach's redline.

The added power for the 2007 models is a great addition. The Element is substantially heavier than a conventional small car, despite having one of the most powerful four-cylinder engines available. The Element has plenty of power for everyday use, but it won't win many stoplight battles. The acceleration performance is noticeably affected by adding a pair of 150-pound dogs, or by packing the cabin in any way.

The shifter is situated in the dashboard, similar to those used in some of the most recent rally vehicles, and it's simple to operate. The manual allows the user to tune the engine's performance and makes driving the Element more enjoyable. It's more enjoyable than using the automated.

Do you want to get yours?

The Honda Element, even with the new SC model, is primarily a utility car. It's designed to maximize capacity and people/cargo transportation choices in a relatively tiny package, with driving dynamics similar to a small sedan and optional all-wheel drive for added protection. Cars45 in Nigeria is where you can get one.
