Honda Fit in Nigeria

Because of its boxy design and multi-way folding back seats, the Honda Fit is well named: you can fit considerably more stuff inside it than any other subcompact. It's also a good buy, with refinement and builds quality that's on par with the best in class. What the Fit lacks in terms of capability is the ability to have fun. At most, it's enjoyable to drive, which is a disappointment given how engaging the previous-generation car was. However, if you're searching for interior spaciousness and versatility, the Fit is still a great choice.

Pros and cons of this model

Pros

  • Lots of space for people and cargo.
  • Comfortable and well-equipped cabin.
  • Good value proposition.

Cons

  • Listless engine.
  • Lack of steering feel.
  • Less fun to drive than many competitors.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

A six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic transmission is available to Fit purchasers (CVT). Unfortunately, all Fits have the same sluggish 130-hp 1.5-litre inline-four engine, but horsepower is reduced to 128 in CVT-equipped variants. The engine buzzes at higher engine speeds, where you'll spend a lot of time driving. The Fit handles well enough, but Honda didn't put as much sass into the chassis as the Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio, making it less enjoyable to drive. Only the Fit's ride quality jumps out; when driving over potholes, the car seems nearly soft. In turn, there is a lot of body roll, and the steering has little road feel. It's competent, not enjoyable.

Fuel Economy

The Fit's fuel efficiency is owing to the Fit's continuously variable transmission engines. You have a choice of transmission options when it comes to which Fit configuration will best suit your Cordova commutes: manual or continuously variable transmission. The 1.5L 4-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission are exclusive to the EX-L trim, whereas the other versions offer a choice of two transmissions. The Honda Fit MPG varies depending on the transmission you choose.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The Fit's interior is one of the best in the market, with clean lines and high-quality materials. When you consider the cabin's spaciousness, it's a wonderful place to be. The ergonomics are outstanding, and the speedometer is flanked by slick color gauge displays on higher trim levels. There are storage boxes, pockets, and cupholders aplenty. Although the Kia Rio matches the Fit's 17-cubic-foot cargo volume, the Fit takes the lead when the rear seats are folded to reveal a massive 57 cubic feet of storage space.

Infotainment and Connectivity

On Sport, EX, and EX-L variants, the Fit's infotainment system has a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a physical volume knob and two more audio speakers. The Base Fits include a 5.0-inch LCD screen and classic button controls. Bluetooth connectivity, a backup camera, at least one USB port, and redundant steering-wheel audio controls are all standard on every Fit. This year, Honda has removed the auxiliary audio input from the Fit, replacing it with a USB port.

Do you want to get yours?

With many amenities, a spacious interior, and ingenious storage options, the 2018 Honda Fit is an excellent bargain in a subcompact, although some rivals are more fun to drive. If you're looking to buy this automobile in Nigeria, go to Cars45 to get the best deal and avoid scams and overpaying.
