Honda Pilot in Nigeria

The three-row Pilot sits at the top of the size stack, and Honda appears to have an SUV for every family or lifestyle. The 2020 Honda Pilot is a worthy alternative to the company's minivan offering, the Odyssey, with seating for up to eight people and plenty of cargo capacity. Adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist are among the Pilot's standard driver-assistance features.

When combined with the top-tier automatic transmission, the base V-6 powerplant performs best. The Pilot's fuel economy statistics are likewise outstanding, matching the findings of a real-world highway test. Even though the greatest crossovers and SUVs in this class have more design and drive better, the 2020 Pilot still has enough space and features to please most families.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance of the Honda Pilot

The V-6 provides a lively sound and lots of power, while the Touring and Elite models have a nine-speed automated transmission. Although the Pilot isn't the most cumbersome three-row crossover to drive, its bulk may make it feel heavy in corners. With the larger 20-inch wheels that come standard on higher trim levels, the Pilot's ride quality over severe impacts is too harsh. You should continue with the normal 18-inch wheels, even if the ride is smoother when the Pilot is loaded with passengers and cargo. Despite the rough ride, the Pilot feels separated from the road due to its lack of body control. The Pilot's light steering aids maneuverability in parking lots, but it also contributes to the car's detached sensation on the interstate.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The inside of the Pilot is roomy and practical, with family-friendly features including an in-cabin PA system. A three-across second row is standard on most trim levels, allowing for an eight-passenger capacity. The middle-row bench is replaced with two captain's chairs in more expensive models, decreasing the passenger count to seven.

The low bottom-seat cushion in the large third row, on the other hand, makes it only suitable for children. The Pilot's dashboard has easy-to-operate temperature settings and a neatly indicated gauge cluster, as well as a whopping 16 cupholders distributed across three rows. The Pilot's elevated seating position provides a commanding view of the road, while wide windows and thin, unobtrusive roof pillars provide the best visibility in the class.

The cargo area on the Pilot is enormous, and there are numerous inside compartments. It's one of the roomiest SUVs in its class, although the cargo capacity differs between the seven- and eight-seat configurations due to a second-row center console that can't be removed in the Elite and seven-seat Touring. The cargo floor is movable and can be configured for a maximum room or to create an underfloor storage compartment.

Do you want to get your own Honda Pilot?

The Pilot is almost as practical as a minivan, but it suffers from a few flaws that hinder it from being the finest in class. If you want to get this model for yourself, you can head on to Cars45 and select from the trims available for sale.
