Hyundai Grand i10 in Nigeria

The Grand i10 Nios receives a new design language for its brand, and it looks even better with new boomerang-shaped DRLs, projector headlamps, diamond-cut alloy rims, and chrome door handles, which set it apart from other cars in its sector.

Era, Magna, Sportz, and Asta are some of the Hyundai Grand i10's versions. The petrol engine is available in all trim levels, but the diesel engine is only available in the base model.

The standard-spec Grand i10 Nios is very basic, lacking features such as central locking, day/night IRVM, and even adjustable steering. As a result, we recommend excluding it entirely and beginning your search with the Magna variant at the very least.

Interior

It's a walk-in/walk-out situation in the Nios cabin. The seats are situated at a height that is suitable for even the older members of the family. Unlike automobiles like the Figo or Swift, which require lowering one's knees to enter the cabin, the Nios offers a knee-friendly alternative.

When you sit in the driver's seat, you're met by a dashboard that looks and feels like it belongs in a higher segment. Yes, the design appears to be a hybrid of the Venue and the Seltos. However, the execution is deserving of a tip of the hat. Everything is well-designed, from the honeycomb mesh-like embossing on the dash to the turbine-like vents.

The front seats alone provide adequate back and lower back support. Those with broad shoulders, on the other hand, may find themselves pouring out of the seat. Another point of contention is the lack of adjustable headrests for the front passengers. The driver's seat does, thankfully, include a height adjuster. Furthermore, save for the base-spec Era, Hyundai is delivering the function in all models.

Performance

For your new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, you can pick between a 1.2-liter petrol and a 1.2-liter diesel engine. Choose one, and you'll have the option of a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic manual transmission (AMT).

On paper, the 1.2-liter petrol engine appears to be identical. It continues to produce 83 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. That puts it on par with the Swift and Ignis, but below the Ford twins, which have 96 horsepower. The most significant improvement to this engine is that it is now BS6 compliant. The AMT's ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is up to 20.5kmpl, while the manual is up to 20.7kmpl.

If we had to sum up the engine in one word, we'd say it's simple. This vehicle should be a good fit for you if you prefer driving in a leisurely manner. At city speeds, it remains polished and scarcely heard. Yes, it isn't as refined as, say, a Suzuki K12B engine, and it isn't as quick to rev. But you'd have no complaints about your regular commutes and highway runs.

To get moving in the first gear, you'll need to use a little more throttle, but the second gear is nearly automatic. At speeds as low as 10 kph, you can move to second and pull past 65 kph in the same gear. This motor will be at ease chugging along at 80-100kmph on the highway. However, if you plan on doing a lot of interstate driving, the diesel engine is the way to go.

Do you want yours?

Has the Hyundai Grand i10 reached a new level? Yes, it has, in a nutshell. Space, aesthetics, and features have all been upgraded. The driving experience is as pleasant as ever, and with four different models to select from, there's a Nios for each situation. Head on to Cars45 to get yours at the best affordable price.
