Hyundai Veloster in Nigeria
The Hyundai Veloster is a hatchback coupe first produced in 2011 by the brand. It is marketed under the brand’s 'Premium Youth Lab' in South Africa. On January 10, 2011, it was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show and fills the space left when the Tiburon was discontinued.
It stands out among its competitors with its unsymmetrical door composition featuring two small doors on the passenger's side and one larger door on the driver's side. This configuration is popular on commercial vehicles and minivans.

2014 Hyundai Veloster Review
It is a four-passenger hatchback with three doors and it comes in three trim levels which are Base, Turbo R-Spec, and Turbo.
The front-wheel-drive model comes standard with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 138 horsepower and 123 pound-ft of torque. It does this when equipped with the standard six-speed manual transmission.
However, it produces 132 hp and 120 lb-feet of torque with the optional six-speed automated manual transmission known as DCT.
The vehicle comes standard with traction and stability control, antilock brakes, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Also, it comes with BlueLink, Hyundai's emergency telematics system, which offers roadside assistance, crash response, remote door lock control, and more.
The most important feature of this model is its three-door layout. While the single driver-side door creates a coupe-like appearance, the two smaller passenger-side doors provide added convenience for loading people or parcels.
Also, its backseat is roomier than most coupes but less spacious than other hatchbacks. It has a decent amount of legroom, but the seat cushion is placed somehow low and headroom is limited.
The trunk holds 15.5 cubic feet but with the seats folded down, the maximum cargo capacity is 34.7 cubes. That is quite impressive if you are comparing it to two-door coupes.
2017 Hyundai Veloster Review
The 2017 model is a compact car with a special and different feature. Instead of being a four-door or a two-door with a hatchback, it is a three-door. As the driver, you get one large door and the passenger side of the car has two smaller doors.
It comes in four trim levels which are the Base, Value Edition, Turbo R Spec, and Turbo trims. The base trim comes well equipped with amazing features. The Value edition adds first-class features and options that are found on the Turbo model.
Some features on the base trim are 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, and more.
Also, a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine fuels the front wheels through either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Value edition upgrades to 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless ignition and entry, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and others.
The Turbo R trim comes with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine which produces 201 horsepower and 195 lb-feet of torque. Available on it is also sport-tuned suspension and steering, and a B&M short-throw shifter for the six-speed manual transmission.
The Turbo still keeps the turbocharged engine and offers the dual-clutch automatic as an option. In addition, the fit and finish are good for the class. The rear seat feels cramped as the heads of taller passengers can touch the back glass. Otherwise, the rest of the interior is perfect.
