The third generation G (V35) was revealed in June 2001. It was released as the G35 on March 12, 2002, to North America for the 2003 model year.

It had little things in common with the G20 and continued in the same line as the original M and the J30. They were also RWD models making use of the same drivetrain as contemporary Nissan Zs.

The designer was Hiroshi Hasegawa who designed both the sedan and coupé.

2008 Infiniti G35 Review

The 2008 entry-level sport luxury sedan is available in four trim levels. They include the Base, G35 Journey, G35 Sport 6MT, and G35x.

The base trim comes standard with automatic climate control, leather upholstery, 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, keyless ignition, power front seats. It also features satellite radio, six-speaker audio with a CD/MP3 player, satellite radio, and an auxiliary audio jack.

The Journey trim adds an upgraded passenger seat, automatic headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a six-CD changer.

It is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 306 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque.

The G35x has AWD while all others are rear-wheel-drive. Also, most models will have a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control and downshift rev-matching. Exclusive to the Sport 6MT is a six-speed manual transmission.

Standard safety features are full-length curtain airbags, front-seat side airbags, antilock disc brakes with brake assist, traction control, and stability control.

Also, the six-speed manual transmission is displeasing, as its clutch pedal is tricky and heavy to engage. Thanks to its quick-shifting paddles placed on the steering column and rev-matched downshifts, the five-speed automatic is perfect.

2007 Infiniti G35 Review

The 2007 model comes as a midsize sport coupe and sedan. The sedan also comes in five trim levels. They include the Base, Journey, x, Sport, and Sport 6MT.

The base trim comes with bi-xenon headlights, leather seating, front power seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control. It also comes with a CD player, full power accessories, a trip computer, and keyless entry and starts.

The Journey trim features dual-zone climate control and a six-disc CD changer. Similarly, the x trim adds AWD and heated front seats.

The Sport trim also gets front sport seats, a sport steering wheel, firmer suspension tuning, 18-inch alloy wheels, a limited-slip rear differential. The Sport 6MT has a six-speed manual gearbox.

Also, the coupe is available in either base or manual transmission "6MT" trims. They are both equipped similarly to the base sedan.

All models are powered by a 3.5-liter V6. It produces 306 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque in the sedans. And for the coupes, it generates 293 horsepower and 258 lb-feet of torque in the 6MT and 275 hp and 268 lb-feet in the automatic version.

The vehicle is quick and changing gears with the automatic is also fun. It also boasts of finely balanced handling. Also, the outright clutch is incredible and body motions are well-controlled.

The only complaint is about the sedan's steering. Although the ratio and feedback are good, the vehicle-speed-sensitive assist needs some fine-tuning.

However, the coupe's stylish and slanted roofline limits headroom, especially for taller people. Also, its build quality is strong.

The trunk capacity varies from 7.8 cubic ft in the coupe to 13.5 cubes in the sedan.
