History of Creation
The Kia Cerato was manufactured by Kia in 2003 and was called Kia Forte in America. This car is a compact vehicle that is available in coupe, hatchback, and sedan body style. This car is marketed in almost all countries in the entire world, which is because of its amazing looks and reliability.
This car comes in four generations, the first one was introduced in South Korea in 2003 and it lasted till 2008. The engine of the car varies as per place of production but in Malaysia, the car was powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder 16 valve DOHC CVVT engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The look of this first generation wasn’t impressive as they are appealing to the eyes. This made Kia make a facelift which birth the Cerati R. The R looked better and the public liked it
The second generation was debuted in South Korea in 2008 but was sold under the name Kia Forte. However, the Cerato was still in use in some markets which include Iran, South Africa, and Brazil, etc. The exterior look of this generation was much better than the first. The sedan and the hatchback came with aggressive styling as they looked take-away. The front and rear end of the car was restyled to have more dominant looks.
The third generation of this car was introduced in late 2012 for the 2014 model. This generation of cars was restyled to be wider, lower, and with a longer stance. People fell in love quickly with this new model as it experienced a complete redesign. The headlights, front grille, and the front bumper were made dominant which made the car interesting.
For the fourth generation, the look became dashing as it came with sleek lights alongside mouth-watering features. As for the engine, the Cerato came with five powertrain options. The 1.6L Alpha II — an inline-4 gasoline engine – was the entry-level model. You can as well go with the 2.0 L Beta II.
Furthermore, the Korean company provided diesel models, with the smallest engine being 1.5 liters and the most powerful being 2.0 liters. All of the engines were paired with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. In terms of the gearbox, the latter is a standard specification.
