Mercedes-benz w123
It's easy to get your dream car with cars45. Are you looking for a used Mercedes-benz w123 but have not been able find one? you've found the perfect place! In this article, we'll cover what it is about these German engineered beauties that makes them so special and whether or not they're right fit depending on where in Nigeria. Ready? Let's gooo...
Buying a used Mercedes-benz w123 on cars45
The mercedes benz W123 is a series of S-Class luxury cars produced from 1972 to 1985. It was the second longest single series ever, after its predecessor, the Mercedes Benz W114/W115. In many countries it was also sold as Mercedes-Benz 230 (after 1976) or as Mercedes-Benz 240 D (in some regions).
The W123 had six basic engine sizes, but there are many variations. There were hundreds of different engines in the W123, ranging from a 1.7-liter four to an 8.0-liter V8. These vehicles have never been characterized by high performance or good fuel economy, however they have excellent build quality and superior handling. The W123 was replaced with the W124 after 1984, but production in Germany continued until December 6th of 1992 when it was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz W202.
Why should I buy the Mercedes-benz w123?
Every car enthusiast has their dream car, and the Mercedes-benz w123 is definitely mine. Let me explain to you why I like these cars so much, and if it'll be a good fit for Nigeria.
1. The design
The Mercedes-benz w123 is probably the most beautiful car ever made, there are literally hundreds of people who decide to buy these cars just because they look good! Everything on this vehicle has been built to perfection, it's literally art on wheels ! I would say that the design of the W123 makes it very attractive to the more "sophisticated" crowd. In Nigeria, where I come from, you have a good number of millionaires and billionaires who buy expensive things just for status or because they want to stand out of the crowd. I'm sure that a car like this would give them a perfect way to show off their wealth while at the same time, be practical and comfortable.
2. The cost of maintenance and spare parts
As we all know, European cars are known for their high maintenance costs. This is mostly due to the fact that they're usually very well engineered hence more complex than most Japanese or American cars. Even if you don't want to work on your car yourself, you can always take it to a garage and have an expert do it for you. Working on a Mercedes-benz w123 is not very difficult, even if your expertise lies in Japanese cars like Nissan or Toyota...understanding the W123 shouldn't be a problem at all! The availability of spare parts however might be a little hard depending on where you live, since these cars are not very common.
3. The total cost of ownership
The total cost of owning a Mercedes-benz w123 is probably one of the lowest of all modern luxury cars on the market today for several reasons:
First and foremost, the cost of maintenance and spare parts is way lower than that of a German luxury Mercedes-Benz w123. The R380 is a simple car that doesn't (or shouldn't) need as much maintenance as the more complex models such as the W126 or W140.
Secondly, you can easily find one of these cars for less than ₦1 million, and there's no reason to waste your money on an expensive car like the W126 or the W140. I'd rather take my chances with a R380 model than spend over ₦3 million for a used Mercedes-Benz w123!!
Final thoughts
All in all, if you're looking for a car that has good build quality and is able to run smoothly even after several years of use, then look no further! The Mercedes-benz w123 is definitely for you !
