Acura TLX in Nigeria

The TLX is a vehicle that sits between mainstream and luxury automobiles. It all starts under the hood, with a four- or six-cylinder engine to choose from. The four-cylinder engine isn't particularly exciting, but it's the one that most people choose. While the V6 engine produces smooth power and even sounds excellent, it is mated to a nine-speed transmission that frequently fumbles for the proper gear. Instead, the four-cylinder has an eight-speed automatic transmission and gets a decent 27 mpg in combined city/highway driving.

The TLX will certainly suit you if you don't require the sparkle and dash of European sedans and conventional sedans are just a little too boring for you. Otherwise, we recommend that you take a look at the competition on Cars45.

Acura TLX models

It's simple to choose a TLX. It comes with a four-cylinder or V6 engine, as well as a couple of option packages. Front-wheel-drive four-cylinder vehicles come in three trim levels: TLX 2.4L (basic trim), TLX 2.4L with Technology package, and TLX 2.4L A-Spec.

The TLX 3.5L (basic trim), TLX 3.5L with Technology package, and TLX 3.5L A-Spec are all V6 variants. With the Advance package, there's also an extra TLX 3.5L. Only V6 versions have all-wheel drive as an option.

Finally, for 2020, a new handcrafted PMC Edition model comes, combining the TLX Advance package's features with A-Spec aesthetic components. Only the PMC Edition comes with a V6 engine and all-wheel drive.

The TLX 2.4L comes standard with a 2.4-liter engine (206 horsepower, 182 lb-ft of torque), an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, walk-away door lock (which automatically locks doors after the keyholder walks away from the car), dual-zone automatic climate control, simulated leather upholstery, and heated and power-adjustable front seats are all included as standard features.

Is the Acura TLX a Good Car?

The TLX is a decent car, but it falls short of the competition in the luxury midsize sedan segment. Some of the cabin materials aren't up to par for this market, and even average-size adults may find the back seat a little cramped. Both powertrains are underwhelming, and while the TLX is comfortable, it lacks the agility of rival sporty luxury sedans.

Should you Buy a New or Used Acura TLX?

The TLX was introduced for the 2015 model year, and it hasn't seen many substantial alterations since then. There are no significant changes planned for 2020, as there were none in 2019.

Acura made the AcuraWatch suite of active safety features standard for 2018 (it was previously optional), as well as smartphone compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For 2018, the A-Spec package is also available. If you're looking for a used car, the 2018 TLX is a decent option. It's essentially identical to the new TLX, but it'll almost certainly be cheaper.
