BMW X5 in Nigeria

The new 2019 BMW X5 luxury crossover SUV has more room, a redesigned body with stronger character lines, and a cockpit worthy of any premium car, utility or not.

For 2019, there are two all-wheel-drive models: the turbo-6 xDrive40i and the twin-turbo V-8 xDrive50i. A hybrid plug-in edition is on the way. The overall length of the 2019 X5 expands by 1.1 inches to 194.3 inches. The length of the wheelbase is 117.1 inches. With the inline-6, it weighs 4,813 pounds; with the V-8, it weighs 5,170 pounds.

The xDrive40i gets 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined according to the EPA, while the xDrive50i gets 17/22/19 mpg.

Lineup

Power features, synthetic leather, run-flat tires, a panoramic roof, power heated front seats, wood trim, LED headlights, navigation, and 19-inch wheels are standard on the X5 xDrive40i, which costs a good sum including destination.

A sport differential, air suspension, and underbody protection are included in the off-road package.

A Dynamic Handling option with sport brakes, 21- or 22-inch wheels, the sport differential, an adaptive M-tuned suspension, active roll stabilization, and active steering is available separately. 20- and 21-inch wheels, remote start, air suspension, chilled and heated cup holders, and a leather-upholstered dash are among the other possibilities.

Interior of the BMW X5

The new cabin is cosy and stylish. Metallic trim runs over a wide and shallow dash, framing the screens and controls. The crystal-tipped shifter and iDrive controller, as well as the digital gauge cluster, become more intriguing as they get more optionally pricey.

There are numerous storage cubbies of various sizes, including half-gallon bottle spaces in the door pockets. A tablet computer can be stored inside the central console, which features a split top. There's a wireless phone charging station that also serves as a change receptacle. The interior is quiet, but optional acoustic side glass can make it even quieter.

The new iDrive infotainment system features a gorgeous 12.3-inch touchscreen with gesture control, allowing you to lower the radio volume simply by pointing at it.

Driving impression

It's impossible to fathom desiring another engine, or transmission for that matter, after driving the xDrive 40i. Its turbo-6 produces 340 horsepower, which is more than adequate for any real-world scenario we've encountered. It can effortlessly detect and pass through openings in motorway traffic, all while emitting iconic BMW inline-6 sounds.

Every rapid step and upshift will be accompanied by the 8-speed automatic transmission. The steering can be a little too aggressive at times, but the X5 is still a blast to drive.

With 456 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph, the twin-turbo V-8 in the xDrive50i is even more potent.

Even with inflexible run-flat tires, both X5s give a smooth, controlled ride. Control arms in the front and five links in the back, along with electronic dampers, make up the suspension. Both include a brake-by-wire technology that reduces vibration at the anti-lock brake pedal while the brakes are anti-locking.

The 2019 BMW X5 exemplifies an incredible concept: BMW is best known for sports sedans, but it also produces fantastic sport-utility vehicles. With a few options, the new X5 might be the finest as the well-balanced xDrive40i. If this is your ideal automobile, visit Cars45 to purchase one in Nigeria.
