BMW F series in Nigeria

The BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring'), and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive automobiles make up the sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series. The F30/F31/F34 generation, which ran from October 28, 2011, to February 28, 2019, is frequently referred to as the F30.

Sedan (F30)

The F30 sedan made its premiere in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show, and it was the first of the sixth-generation 3 Series cars to hit the market. The 328i and 335i were early models, whereas the 330i and 340i were later variants (after LCI). In March 2012, the F30 range was expanded to include the 320i, 318d, and 316d models. In the autumn of 2012, the 320i EfficientDynamics Edition and 316i were added.

Touring (F31)

In 2012, at the 21st Auto Mobil International in Leipzig, the wagon/estate body type (marketed as "Touring") was debuted. The 328i, 320d, and 330d were the launch models for this body style, which was designated F31. In the autumn of 2012, the 320i, 316d, and 318d models were added.

Gran Turismo (F34)

The F34 5-door fastback body shape is marketed as the 3 Series Gran Turismo and boasts aesthetics that are similar to the 5 Series Gran Turismo. Despite having a rear hatchback, the 3 Series GT is not regarded as a successor to the 3 Series Compact 3-door hatchbacks that were produced from 1993 to 2004.

LWB Sedan (F35)

For the Chinese market, a long-wheelbase sedan model with the designation F35 was built. The wheelbase is enlarged by 110 mm (4.3 in) to 2,920 mm (115.0 in), resulting in a 90 mm (3.5 in) improvement in the rear knee room and an overall length of 4,734 mm (186.4 in).

Interior and equipment of the BMW F series

Interior

In comparison to their E90 predecessors, the sedan versions have more rear headroom, legroom, and shoulder room.

Heated front seats, split-folding rear seats, satellite navigation, and a widescreen display in the center console are available as options. Audio streaming is possible thanks to the car's built-in Bluetooth. A shift by wire shifter has taken the role of the classic mechanical shift lever.

Engines

The turbocharged 4-cylinder N13, 4-cylinder N20, and 6-cylinder N55 engines were utilized in the petrol variants at first. The turbocharged 4-cylinder N20 engine was now featured in the 325i and 328i models. The engines were changed for the 2016 facelift (LCI) to the 3-cylinder B38, 4-cylinder B48, and 6-cylinder B58.

The 4-cylinder N47 and 6-cylinder N57 turbocharged engines were used in the diesel variants at first. The 4-cylinder vehicles received the B47 engine for the 2016 facelift, while the 6-cylinder variants kept the N57 engine.

Pros and Cons of the BMW F series

Pros

  • Sporty Elegance Inside.
  • Superb Engines.
  • Brilliant Dynamics.

Cons

  • Missing Flashy Features.
  • Misses Rear Seat Focus.
  • Not Pothole friendly.

Should You Buy One?

Yes, simply said. The 3 Series is still a sedan that you want in your garage for its thrills and excitement, not for its utility. With that comes a firmer ride, less flashy frills, and a focus on the driver.

However, the plusher interiors, increased cabin room, and the fact that the petrol engine makes you want to drive it, again and again, more than compensate for those shortcomings. If you decide this is the series you want, head on to Cars45 and select your preferred model from their available products.
