Ford E-250 in Nigeria
With the exception of an auxiliary audio input jack as standard equipment and Steel Blue Metallic paint and new 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels as options, the 2012 E-250 remains substantially unaltered from the previous model year.
The E-250 is equally at ease doing construction work or transporting people. The rear cargo doors on all E250s can be held open at 105 degrees or a whopping 178 degrees. "Double-wall structure," which makes the E-250's walls thicker than other vans, is also standard.
The E-250's workhorse V-8 engines are part of its charm. Buyers can choose between a 4.6-liter V-8 with 225 horsepower or a 5.4-liter V-8 with 255 horsepower. Both engines are latched to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Overview
Ford has incorporated an auxiliary audio input jack as standard equipment across the E-250 lineup for 2012. Steel Blue Metallic is a new exterior color for the Ford van for 2012. 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels are now available as an option. A new dual-battery system replaces the old auxiliary battery layout in the E-250 Commercial Van and E-250 Commercial Van Extended.
The boxy and utilitarian E-250 hasn't altered much in recent years. A blacked-out grille and dual-sealed beam headlights are standard on E-250 Commercial Vans. A bright chrome grille inspired by Ford's Super Duty truck, as well as dual-sealed beam, fixed-lens headlights, are available on both E-250 Commercial Vans. For the 2012 model year, the E-250 has a new paint choice (Steel Blue Metallic) and three 16-inch wheel options.

Interior
The Ford E-250's interior is simple - after all, it's a van. To help reduce scratching, the floors of E-250 Commercial Vans are vinyl-covered. The second row of seating in front of the cargo compartment, similar to that of a crew cab pickup truck, is also available on Commercial Vans. The E-250's interior can be customized with a ladder rack, a 12-drawer cabinet, and other features tailored to the plumbing and air conditioning service industry. A rearview camera, GPS, and Sirius Satellite Radio are all available on all E-250s.
The E-250's acceleration to 60 mph varies between 9.0 and 15.0 seconds, depending on the engine, which is either a 4.6-liter 225-hp or a 5.4-liter 255-hp V-8. Both engines are mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that is more than a decade old. For individuals who aren't used to truck-like handling, the E-250, like most commercial-oriented pickups, performs better when loaded.
The E-250 comes standard with driver and front passenger airbags, side-door anti-intrusion beams, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems. Ford's AdvanceTrac with RSC is also standard on all E250s. AdvanceTrac with RSC combines traditional traction control with roll stability control, and applying brakes to one or more wheels or limiting engine power, prevents an overly enthusiastic driver from rolling the high-riding van over.
