2008 Honda City Review
The special ‘arrow shot’ design gives this vehicle a striking and racy character. Its design is not complicated and Honda has kept things simple which works well.
The triple-slit matte black grille, muscular wheel arches, and windscreen pillar look very nice. It is a handsome-looking car with sharp lines and important features like the thick waistline and the parallelogram-shaped headlamps.
The interiors do not seem to be completely rebuilt. The steering wheel has been lifted right off the Civic. Also, there is a clear demarcation of the lower and upper halves of the dashboard with a different shade for either half.
Additionally, the quality of materials used is exceptionally good. The center console also has a silver finish.
In terms of space, in this vehicle, there is enough leg and knee room and a flat floor. Also, the rear seats are wide which allows three passengers to sit.
It has enough storage space and there are plenty of cubby holes. There is an air of spaciousness, ergonomics are brilliant and the interior space is more than that of rivals.
On the top-of-the-line trim, you get fog lamps, alloy wheels, and beige upholstery. Also, the newly launched Exclusive variant comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and chrome door handles leather seats.
It comes standard with an i-VTEC engine. The super silent refined 1497cc motor develops 118PS at 6600 rpm and 146 Nm of torque at 4600rpm.
The 5-speed gearbox is slick, light, has short throws, and is honestly good to use. For the automatic version, paddle shifts are offered on the steering. It is also capable of reaching over 180 kph.
2012 Honda City Review
This vehicle occupies a rather more comfortable place in the model hierarchy today than it did some years back in 2009.
The VTi-L model gets a sufficient amount of kit including numerous touches and new 16-inch alloys to differentiate it from the base VTi.
These include a center armrest between the front seats, chrome plating on the interior door handles, and numerous instrument panel knobs.
Others are a door-lock switch on the driver's side, a luggage tray under the rear seat, pockets on the backsides of both front seats, and others.
Some of the features of the VTi variant include cruise control, a trip computer, air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity.
In addition, both models get new taillights, a new chrome grille, front and rear bumpers, plus aluminum-look touches.
It also adopts a thicker window glass combined with an improved and sound-absorbent carpet to quiet the experience on-road.
Suspension remains the same MacPherson strut/torsion beam arrangement while braking is by discs at all corners. It comes standard with antilock, brake assist, and electronic brakeforce distribution driver assistance systems.
Competently, It deals with on-road demands responding to the helm through reasonably quick, lightweight electric power steering.
The cabin area will accommodate at least four adults and the seats are very comfortable and supportive even on long trips.
