Hyundai ix35 in Nigeria
All variants have a raised suspension system, seating for five people, and a well-equipped interior. S, SE, SE Nav, Premium, and Premium Panorama models are available, with air conditioning, alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, and a height-adjustable driver's seat standard on all models.
Front and back heated seats, Bluetooth phone connectivity, parking sensors, and a leather steering wheel come standard on the SE, while the SE Nav adds an intelligent touchscreen sat-nav system. All of this is standard on Premium versions, which also include leather seat upholstery, bi-xenon headlights, and keyless entry, as well as a full-length glass roof on the Premium Panorama.
All ix35 models provide a hassle-free driving experience, regardless of which engine you choose. The Hyundai is easy to place on the road thanks to light controls, a commanding driving position, and good visibility, while acceptable refinement ensures long highway travels aren't a chore. Although it lacks the excitement of a Skoda Yeti or Nissan Qashqai, the ix35 is safe and predictable, especially in four-wheel-drive models.

Engines, performance, and drive
The Hyundai ix35's suspension system was changed when it was updated in 2013. New dampers and side-load coil springs were installed, promising sharper handling for tight and curvy routes.
On the road, though, these changes are difficult to notice. Over bumps, the ix35 is pretty composed, but there's too much body roll in corners, and the lifeless steering lacks confidence.
On the bright side, good visibility and a commanding driving position make the Hyundai a breeze to maneuver in town, and acceptable refinement helps take the sting out of lengthy drives.
Opt for the top-of-the-line model. The ix35 is an easy cruiser with plenty of overtaking ability, but it's expensive to buy. 134bhp 4x4 2.0 CRDi diesel and the ix35 is an effortless cruiser with plenty of overtaking ability in reserve, but it's expensive to buy.
The 1.6-liter petrol engine is the most affordable, but it feels underpowered, taking 11.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph before reaching a top speed of 111 mph. As a result, the 114bhp 1.7 CRDi engine is a good compromise, with its engine delivering decent mid-range acceleration. Although the 2.0 CRDi automatic is smoother, it has a major impact on performance and efficiency.
Interior, design, and technology
The automobile manufacturer has gone bold with the design of the Hyundai ix35, with a distinctive mix of creases and curves, slab sides, and tall stance. It looks a little awkward from some angles, but it certainly stands out from the crowd.
All versions get eye-catching LED running lights, alloy wheels plus body-colored bumpers and door mirrors, while SE versions and above benefit from silver-finish roof rails. Optional extras such as bi-xenon headlamps, 18-inch alloys, and chrome door handle give an extra visual lift.
The interior isn't quite as daring, but it's nonetheless attractive and well-made. There are plenty of soft-touch materials, the switchgear is precise, the blue backlighting adds a touch of class at night, and the high-set driving position gives you a commanding outlook. The SE models and up come with heated front and rear seats, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, automated headlights, and a leather steering wheel, among other things.
If you go for Premium, you'll get the brand's improved navigation system, which includes an intuitive seven-inch touchscreen and incredibly clear sat-nav mapping and is also available on SE Nav.
