Hyundai Creta in Nigeria
Hyundai's most important vehicle is the Creta. It's been a smashing success, with roughly 10,000 units sold every month over the previous six years for a car that costs well over the excess. In the face of increasing competition, Hyundai has finally released a new Creta that promises to be more premium and set a new class standard. Prices have increased as well, as has the feature list.

Interior
The cabin of the new Creta appears to be much more serious and mature than the outside. The dash design is simple. The high-resolution 10.25-inch display takes center stage on a well-defined V-shaped center console. The instrumentation has a futuristic appearance thanks to the huge TFT screen, which displays a wealth of information such as speed, trip, and tire pressures. The tachometer and fuel gauge are flanked by analog gauges, however, they are incredibly small and difficult to read.
The rear seats are also very comfortable, with plenty of shoulder and knee room. Hyundai has also carved out the back half of the seat base, which provides additional under-thigh support as well as more headroom. The huge panoramic sunroof, which creates an incredibly airy cabin, enhances the back seat experience even further.
Performance
The new Hyundai Creta, like the Seltos, comes with two petrol and one diesel engine option. We have the diesel manual and the turbo-petrol automatic on this test. The turbocharged petrol engine, which has a displacement of 1353cc and produces 140PS and 242 Nm of torque, is the same as the one found in the Kia Seltos. The high-tech engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Creta's turbo-petrol model does not come with a manual transmission, unlike the Seltos.
If you're looking for a speedy Creta, this turbo-petrol version is a great option. The motor responds quickly as soon as you step on the accelerator pedal, and it feels snappy right away. Peak torque is reached at 1500 rpm, and after that, the engine's mid-range is rather strong, and it will cheerfully pull to its 6000 rpm redline.
Ride and Handling
The new Hyundai Creta's suspension system gives it a wonderful sense of plushness. The Creta just shines in town because of its smooth low-speed ride, which is achieved despite the huge 17-inch wheels. This compact SUV feels fluid but controlled thanks to well-judged spring rates. Even on rutted terrain, the suspension provides remarkably strong crash-free bump absorption because most irregularities are not felt.
Where the original Creta felt sloppy and anxious at high speeds, the new Creta feels rock solid and has excellent straight-line stability. The Creta changes course eagerly even when you show it a set of curves, but it isn't very fun to drive. The steering is smooth and precise, but it's really just a tool for guiding the front wheels, and there's a lot of body roll as well.
Do you want your own Hyundai Creta?
The Creta is unquestionably a capable compact SUV. It is roomy, comfortable, well-equipped, easy to drive, and comes with strong petrol and diesel engines. It is a significant improvement over the previous vehicle, both in terms of drive and feel. Head on to Cars45 to buy one for yourself if this is the one for you.
